Curbside Pickup
Reminder to residents: Please dispose of household garbage in a securely tied bag before placing it into a roll cart. This is to protect our contracted trash haulers from potential health hazards, including COVID-19, or coronavirus. Remember: Bag trash, but keep recyclables loose.
Below are a series of helpful videos that describe our Solid Waste & Recycling Program.
Information
Residential Pickup
Richland County provides citizens with weekly pickup for Household Garbage and Yard Waste; bi-weekly pickup for recyclables. Curbside collection is also provided for Bulk Items. Contact Richland County at 803-576-2440 to determine pickup days for your location. The annual solid waste fee for curbside collection is typically included in each property owner’s tax bill.
Holiday Schedule Pickup
Neither garbage nor recyclables nor yard waste will be collected on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If collections are interrupted due to a holiday schedule, your garbage, recyclables and yard waste will be picked up the day following your usual pickup day for each. Call Richland County at 803-576-2440 for information on all schedule changes.
Inclement Weather Pickup
When road conditions pose a significant threat to the safety of our citizens and collection crews, curbside service will be suspended until it is safe to travel again. Service will resume where it left off. Contact Richland County at 803-576-2440 for information on schedule changes.
