This workshop for farmers and natural resource professionals will focus on soil health in conventional soybean, corn, cotton and peanut rotations. In the morning session, participants will learn about optimizing the short-term benefits of cover crops, reducing input costs through soil testing and the latest findings from soil health research projects across the state. After lunch, participants will travel to nearby Carter Farms to see a standing cover crop and learn cover crop management and soil sampling techniques. Pesticide applicator and certified crop advisor credits available.
