After completing a successful three-month parking meters pilot program, Richland County Council voted earlier this year to continue providing up to two hours of free parking for the public visiting and doing business at the Richland County Administration Complex, including the Health Department, located at 2020 Hampton St.
The parking meters, which were bagged during the pilot program, have been removed from the County’s back surface parking lot off Lady Street, and along Washington Street, directly in front of the Voter Registration and Election Commission Office. The parking spaces designated for two hours of free parking are identified with yellow paint. These parking spaces will continue to help alleviate parking shortages around the Administration and Health Department buildings during business hours.
Please note the parking meters on Hampton, Harden and Lady streets around the Administration Complex are City of Columbia parking meters and must be fed.
