(Richland PIO) – Richland County residents can take active roles in their local government by applying to serve on one of several boards, committees and panels.
County Council is accepting applications through 5 p.m. April 4 for the following vacancies:
- Accommodations Tax Committee – Six vacancies (two applicants must have a background in the lodging industry, two applicants must have a background in the hospitality industry, and one applicant must have a cultural background; one is an at-large seat)
- Board of Assessment Appeals Board – One vacancy
- Building Codes Board of Appeals – Six vacancies (one applicant must be from the architecture industry, one applicant must be from the gas industry, one applicant must be from the plumbing industry, one applicant must be from the electrical industry, and two applicants must be from the fire industry as alternates)
- Business Service Center Appeals Board – two vacancies (applicants must be CPAs)
- Employee Grievance Committee – three vacancies (applicants must be Richland County Government employees; two applicants will serve as alternates)
- Hospitality Tax Committee – five vacancies (two applicants must be from the restaurant industry)
- Midlands Workforce Development Committee – one vacancy (applicant must represent the private sector)
- Procurement Review Panel – five vacancies (one applicant must represent the construction industry, one applicant must represent the professional services industry, one applicant must represent the service industry, one applicant must represent the public procurement industry, and one applicant must represent the consumer industry)
