Richland County Community Development (RCCD) will join its counterparts across the nation to celebrate National Community Development (CD) Week by showcasing federally funded projects and programs that help build strong communities.
RCCD has several events planned to celebrate National CD Week, April 6-10:
· 7 p.m. Monday, April 6 – CDBG Footprints-RCCD Project Commemoration: “What is Affordable Housing?” Ballentine Community Center, 1009 Bickley Road, Irmo.
· 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8 – Benedict-Allen Duplex Tour and News Conference, 5114 Julius Dixon Lane, Columbia.
· 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 10 – Sistercare Supply Drive Dropoff at Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St. A donation drive will be held for Sistercare, a local agency that offers programs and services for domestic violence survivors and their children. Items sought included book bags, laundry baskets, bed linens, dishware and more.
· 11 a.m. Friday, April 10 – Hall of Fame Introduction Ceremony at the Columbia Housing
Authority, Cecil Tillis Center 2111 Oak St., Columbia.
