5. Request by
Councilmembers Brill, Pearce & Smith
a. Increase
in Garbage Fees – The motion was withdrawn until better garbage service
is provided.
6. Executive
Session –
- A second grievance
from EMS was added to the agenda. Council heard grievances from EMS and
the Detention Center. Council moved to uphold the Administrator’s recommendation.
- Council heard
another personnel matter, Scott’s issue from 9/18/01. The County Administrator
was asked to investigate and bring back a report.
7. Motion Period/Announcements
–
- First reading
approval by title only for the Spay and Neuter Ordinance and Budget Amendment:
Animal Control Expenditure.
- Meetze asked
the County Administrator and Mr. Byrd to have follow up meetings with law
enforcement, emergency services, all municipalities and school district
representatives who require terrorist response training and to set up a
conference to notify citizens of Council’s concern.
- Brady asked
all Council members to meet with Brenda Carter before Friday to draw up
district lines.
- Scott invited
Council members to the dedication ceremony at the Congaree Swamp National
Monument on October 18 at 10:30 AM.
- McSwain announced
that Pearce and Brady will be holding a community forum on October 30 at
6:30 PM.
- Brill invited
Council to a meeting on Local Option Sales Tax at Wildewood Country Club,
October 22, 7:00 PM.
