Asbestos Information
An Asbestos Report is required before the issuance of a commercial demolition permit.
As of September 1, 2015 Richland County will require prior to issuing a commercial demolition permit, a copy of the asbestos report as required by DHEC in Regulation 61-86.1 Standards of Performance For Asbestos Projects.
Once the permit is issued, any and all asbestos as identified by this report shall be abated per all DHEC regulations along with all other demolition requirements of Richland County.
This permit is issued by Richland County Department of Public Works to perform work pursuant to an approved SWPPP prepared under the provisions of chapter 26. It is issued after DHEC issues coverage under a NPDES General Permit for Large and Small Construction Activities.
