(Richland PIO) – As weather conditions in the Midlands continue to improve, Richland County Government offices and facilities will open for normal operations at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 after a delayed start. County employees should report to their respective work locations at noon.
Solid Waste and Recycling facilities, including the County’s Clemson Road Drop-off Recycling Site, Lower Richland Drop-off Center and C&D Landfill, also will reopen at 1 p.m. Thursday. Curbside solid waste collection will begin resuming Thursday but will likely see delays through the weekend. Residents should continue to leave carts at curbside.
Richland County’s Jim Hamilton-L.B. Owens Airport terminal and fixed base operator services will reopen Thursday pending weather and airfield conditions. Check the airport’s website, www.flykcub.com, for the latest updates.
Weather forecasts for Richland County indicate mostly cloudy skies Thursday, with temperatures continuing to hover around freezing throughout the day. The County’s Emergency Services team continues to monitor weather conditions and anticipates no widespread concerns at this time. Residents and County employees should continue to exercise extreme caution when driving and to be aware that roads could still have patches of snow and black ice.

While offices are closed, residents are encouraged to access services on the County’s website, including those by the Auditor, Treasurer, Assessor and other offices.
