Richland County Government is reporting some areas of flooding because of heavy rains from Tropical Storm Debby.

Richland County Government continues to monitor Tropical Storm Debby as significant rainfall from the storm impacts the Midlands. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, there are no reports of major damage in the County.

As Tropical Storm Debby threatens the Midlands with inclement weather, Richland County Government is encouraging residents to plan ahead and exercise caution.

Richland County Solid Waste & Recycling reports that power has been restored to the C&D Landfill at 1070 Caughman Road N., Columbia, and facility operations have returned to normal.

Richland County Solid Waste & Recycling has reported a power outage at the County’s C&D Landfill (1070 Caughman Road N., Columbia) because of a large tree falling on power lines on Monticello Road.
