The Sandhills Hiking Trail at Sesqui got a total overhaul in 2012. The two mile trail around the park’s 30-acre lake was widened, re-graded, and covered with crushed asphalt. RCCC contributed $16,000 through a FY13 grant to replace the rickety bridge over the lake’s spillway with a longer and ADA accessible bridge using “green”/sustainable composite decking. A trail reopening was held on December 8, 2012. Click here to read Joey Holleman's article in The State on Dec, 6, 2012.
