Richland Soil and Water Conservation District was presented with a community involvement award for helping to spruce up a local teacher’s outdoor classroom.

Gills Creek Watershed Association was awarded a grant to develop a plan for the corridor running from Kilbourne Road to Shop Road to include greenways, best management practices, and stream restoration.

Palmetto Conservation Foundation took their first step in connecting the Palmetto Trail from the Wateree River to Fort Jackson with the construction of a 2 ½ mile section of trail through SCE&G property along Hwy 601.

Friends of Harbison State Forest received a FY13 $10,000 grant to reroute a badly eroded section of the Midlands Mountain Trail.
