Councilwoman Gwendolyn Kennedy’s professional career is rooted in education. She worked as an educator for more than 40 years, representing Richland School District 2 and neighboring Fairfield and Kershaw counties. A graduate of C.A. Johnson High School in Columbia, she later received a bachelor’s degree from Benedict College and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. Ms. Kennedy has three children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
