For some time, it has been the wish of Rich Health to make
fresh seasonal produce available to Richland County Government employees conveniently at their
workplace. As a pilot project, Rich Health is collaborating with the local City
Roots organic farm, and has offered a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
program to the employees at Hampton Street.
Employees had the option to participate and to purchase
small or large “shares” of produce, which are harvested, packed and delivered
to Hampton Street the same day.
This “Farm to Desk” pilot is the first of its kind for City
Roots and for Richland County.
City Roots is the first urban sustainable farm in South
Carolina. Rich Health is excited and proud to partner and support this locally grown,
healthy “Hot Spot.”
