Richland County Government offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday, due to the possibility of slick roadways.
No snow accumulated in Richland County today, but the small amount of rainfall the County received could create hazardous roadways, bridges and overpasses as temperatures fall to about 20 degrees tonight and early tomorrow morning.
With the possibility of ice patches and black ice, the County will delay opening to keep employees off roadways during the morning rush hour.
“Temperatures will fall below freezing early this evening,” said Ken Aucoin, Richland County’s Chief Meteorologist and Emergency Planner. “Anyone traveling overnight and early tomorrow morning needs to be aware of patches of ice from today’s quarter-of-an-inch rainfall, especially on secondary roads.”
Temperatures are expected to reach nearly 50 degrees Thursday, warming each day to Monday’s predicted high of almost 70 degrees.
