Construction of the Saluda Riverwalk project continues to restrict public access to the river at Mills Race Rapids.

Work is occurring on private property and public access is not allowed without consent of the property owner. When the project is complete, the trail will be converted to a public park managed by the city of Columbia.

The walkway is part of the Three Rivers Greenway Extension Phase 1, a 3.2-mile project between the Saluda River and Riverbanks Zoo.

Signs and fencing are posted to inform the public to remain out of the area until work is complete this fall.
