On May 20th, Richland County partnered with WLTX and The State Fairgrounds to host Richland Recycles Day. During the event, over 1,300 county citizens collectively dropped off one hundred tons of household hazardous waste, electronics, metals and tires. Most of the materials will be recycled into new products, which in-turn, creates jobs and reduces pollution.
Two local elementary schools brought students to learn about environmental issues and taking care of our natural resources. The Richland County schools also received a $5,500 donation contributed by Solid Waste’s partners.
