Richland County and Lexington County are teaming up to hold a free recycling event for residents in both counties to properly dispose of a variety of items – from household chemicals to furniture.
The event is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at Irmo High School, 6671 St. Andrews Road.
Residents can drop off electronics, scrap metal and household hazardous waste, and bring paper documents for shredding. In addition to these items, residents are encouraged to bring clothing, furniture and household items to be reused by Goodwill Industries – and thereby keeping them out of landfills.
