Did you know you can visit a Richland County website to get information that saves you time from standing in line?
Through two separate portals on the County’s richlandmaps.com site, residents can get a host of information in order to find out more about where they live and to do business with some County offices – from putting out the trash out on the right day to paying taxes. All you need to do is type in your address. The tools, developed by the County’s Information Technology Geographic Information System (GIS) Division, are so intuitive they even assist in completing the address as you type.
- The GeoInfo Internet Mapping site allows property owners to gather a lot of information in one shot. Get your garbage collection schedule, determine which school district you reside in or find out who represents you on County Council.
- The GIS Internet Mapping Site provides tax map information – which comes in handy. For example, you’ll need your tax map or parcel number when you visit the Treasurer’s Office to pay taxes. Get the number in advance at this site, instead of waiting in another line at the Assessor’s Office to get it.
When you visit the richlandmaps.com site, look for the application links on the right side. The mapping sites referenced here are the first two links. Check out both sites and see how much you can learn about where you live – and save yourself some time.
