A reminder of the historic October 2015 flood was demolished Thursday, March 28 as crews tore down the remains of the TitleMax store on Devine Street.
"While it is my hope that the memories of this eyesore will quickly fade from our memories, I also hope what is never forgotten is the resilience that our community demonstrated during and in the aftermath of the historic 2015 flood," said property owner Jim Pagett.
Pagett purchased the property located in unincorporated Richland County in 2017. Since then, he's kept County officials informed about his plans for the site and building officials were on hand to see the building come down.
Flood recovery efforts continue in Richland County, with staff assisting residents and small businesses affected by the historic event.
