The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, and its increasing prevalence in communities across the globe has resulted in the World Health Organization declaring the outbreak as a global pandemic. The leading U.S. government public health agency, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), continues to assess the risk of COVID-19 and provide guidance for those in the United States and traveling abroad (www.coronavirus.gov).
In alignment with CDC guidance, Richland County has taken a multi-pronged approach to address the growing threat of the coronavirus in our community. The approach focuses on prevention, preparation, communication, collaboration and compliance. We believe these focus areas are critical to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus and reduce the negative impact of the virus on our community.
