Richland County has begun accepting applications for a grant program aimed at increasing access to public services.
The County’s Community Development Division annually seeks to award public service grants to agencies for projects that aid low-to-moderate income residents. In the past, such projects have included services for the homeless, improvements to existing housing, and assistance for special-needs populations.
This year, the County tentatively plans to allocate $224,275 for the public service grants, which are financed through a portion of the County’s Community Development Block Grant funding. The award amount and availability are dependent on approval by Richland County Council.
Applications must be submitted online via ZoomGrants at https://zoomgrants.com/gprop.asp?donorid=2236. The deadline to apply is Aug. 7.
The grants have no minimum or maximum threshold.
Agencies will receive decisions on grant funding on or after Aug. 20. Awarded projects must be completed between Oct. 1, 2020, and Sept. 30, 2021.
