County residents are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of local neighborhoods at a free block party Thursday, June 23.
The County’s Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP) will host the event from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St., Columbia.
The Neighborhood Block Party will give the community a chance to celebrate successes from the past year. Food and music will be provided, and representatives of local organizations and nonprofits will be on hand to offer resources to neighborhoods and residents.
“We want the block party to celebrate Richland County neighborhoods and promote the idea that livable neighborhoods can restore healthy lifestyles,” said Marc Ridlehoover, neighborhood planner for the County.
If inclement weather occurs, the event will move to the first and third floors of the County Administration Building.
Those interested in showcasing activities, events and accomplishments in their neighborhood can register for the event by emailing NIP at nip@richlandcountysc.gov.
