(Richland PIO) – At approximately 9:20 a.m. Saturday, the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) director received notification that the detainee who escaped the custody of Bryan Psychiatric Hospital had been successfully recovered by the Columbia Police Department and is now back in custody.

The joint efforts of all involved agencies played a crucial role in the swift and safe recovery of the detainee.

As of now, the information available is preliminary, and Richland County officials are awaiting an incident report from Bryan Psychiatric Hospital.
