(Richland PIO) – Beginning Monday, Jan. 15, the Hardscrabble Road entrance to The Shores at Elders Pond apartment complex in Columbia will be temporarily closed. The S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will put the closure in place as part of the Hardscrabble Road widening project in Richland County.

Construction will include new asphalt and a new curb, gutter and sidewalk. Construction activity is expected to last about a week.

Traffic bound for The Shores apartment complex will be directed to the complex’s entrance on Elders Pond Road. A map of the detour released by SCDOT can be found on SCDOT's website.
