Richland County Solid Waste & Recycling has reported a power outage at the County’s C&D Landfill (1070 Caughman Road N., Columbia) because of a large tree falling on power lines on Monticello Road.

Phones and landfill scales are currently down, and utility crews are on site.

Only residential waste is being accepted at the facility until power is restored. Commercial customers are being redirected to the Waste Management landfill at 1047 Hwy Church Road, Elgin, or instructed to return when power is restored.
