(Richland PIO) – With ongoing inclement weather in the area, Richland County Government is altering schedules for its facilities.
County offices will close for normal operations at noon Friday, Jan. 10 and reopen for business on Monday, Jan. 13.
All County Solid Waste and Recycling facilities will also close at noon Friday and will be closed Saturday. While curbside solid waste collection will continue as conditions permit, residents should expect delays in curbside collection through the weekend. Residents should leave carts at curbside.
Richland County’s Jim Hamilton-L.B. Owens Airport terminal and fixed base operator services will be closed from 3 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday, when services should resume as normal, pending airfield conditions.
A winter weather advisory for Richland County, which is in effect until 4 a.m. Saturday, notes expected snow and sleet accumulations of up to a half inch and ice accumulation of 0.2 inches. Drivers should anticipate hazardous travel, with slick, icy roads and walkways through Saturday morning. Black ice is possible into Sunday morning.
