(Richland PIO) – Richland County is moving into the second phase of “Reimagine Richland,” the 10-year update of the County’s Comprehensive Plan. When completed, this document will provide County leadership a long-term guide for making decisions about future development and conservation.
The Comprehensive Plan process is divided into three phases. As part of the current phase, plan development, Richland County is organizing a series of meetings to present land use scenarios and concepts for public input.
The first of the drop-in public forum meetings will take place Thursday, May 1, with additional meetings listed below. The County encourages residents and businesses to attend, participate, and share ideas at the meetings. County staff will provide information on the Comprehensive Plan, as well as proposed land use scenarios and recommendations for guiding principles. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and take comments.
Meetings will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.:
- Thursday, May 1 at EdVenture Children’s Museum, 211 Gervais St., Columbia
- Wednesday, May 7 at Ballentine Community Center, 1009 Bickley Road, Irmo
- Monday, May 12 at North Springs Community Center, 1320 Clemson Road, Columbia
- Wednesday, May 14 at Doko Manor, 100 Alvina Hagood Circle, Blythewood
- Wednesday, May 21 at Garners Ferry Adult Activity Center, 8620 Garners Ferry Road, Hopkins
