Several community partners are opening their doors to shelter coastal evacuees and others who must leave their homes as Hurricane Florence takes aim at South Carolina.

In an effort to assist Hurricane Florence evacuees with pets, Richland County Government will open a pet-friendly shelter to house the animals during the weather emergency.

As the County prepares for Hurricane Florence, residents are asked to note the following regarding trash collections, event schedules and more.

Due to the potential effects of Hurricane Florence, Richland County offices will close Friday, Sept. 14 and Monday, Sept. 17.
