With the beginning of a new year, the clock is ticking for Richland County businesses to renew their business licenses. 

Richland County Council will kick off a new term Tuesday, Jan. 5 with the ceremonial swearing-in services for five new members, who won election in November.

The Richland County Conservation Commission is making grants worth up to $50,000 available for projects that aim to protect and preserve the County’s rich land and historic places.

Richland County’s C&D Landfill, Lower Richland Drop-off Center and Clemson Road Drop-off Recycling Site will be closed Friday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Richland County Government is advising residents of alternate ways to submit payments in a timely manner in light of nationwide delays for mail delivery this holiday season.
