Jennifer Mancke has been named Richland County’s Conservation Teacher of the Year by the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD).  Mancke is the 1st-5th grade lead teacher at Harmony School.

Twenty-three students will receive awards in this year’s Conservation Poster Contest sponsored by the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD).  Student posters addressed the topic “Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper,” raising awareness about the importance of healthy soil ecosystems and how humans can protect and promote soil life.

Richland County employee Charlie Fisher has been named Outstanding Employee of the Year by the South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts. 

Six Richland County schools will receive funding for spring conservation projects through the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District’s (SWCD’s) Conservation Education Mini-Grant Program.
