The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD) has selected 34 winning entries from Richland County K-12 students in the 2017 Arbor Day Youth Contests. South Carolina will observe Arbor Day on Friday, December 1, 2017.
Conservation Interns will assist the Richland SWCD in the planning and implementation of conservation programs for agricultural producers, natural resource professionals, local food system organizers, preK-12 students, teachers, and/or the general public. Interested candidates should apply by February 2, 2018.
Students and teachers at several local schools will receive support for conservation education initiatives through the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District’s Conservation Education Mini-Grants and the City of Columbia’s Clean Stream Columbia Awards.
