It’s property tax time – and the offices of the Assessor, Auditor and Treasurer each have a pivotal role in the process of collecting taxes.

Richland County Council officially will introduce its new Interim County Administrator to residents when it meets Nov. 13, but Edward Gomeau wasted no time getting to work since starting the job this week.

Following the success of the 100 Plates event that brought residents to Columbia Place Mall to share a meal and ideas, Richland County’s Planning Services Division will host sessions in November on funding available to residents to improve their neighborhoods.

The National Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) awarded a $35,000 Program Expansion Grant to Richland County CASA to recruit, screen and train more local volunteers to serve children who experience abuse or neglect.

Richland County and Lexington County are teaming up to hold a free recycling event for residents in both counties to properly dispose of a variety of items – from household chemicals to furniture.
