A joint effort between Richland County, the City of Columbia and the Columbia Housing Authority led to 12 new houses for local low- to moderate-income families.

Richland Soil and Water Conservation District was presented with a community involvement award for helping to spruce up a local teacher’s outdoor classroom.

In the days after the devastating flood of October 2015, Richland County Council gave one main directive to be the focus of the County’s flood recovery process: Ensure no resident drops through the cracks.

Residents affected by the historic October 2015 floods are encouraged to attend one of six public meetings.

The County’s financial statements for the 2016 fiscal year that ended June 30 came back “clean," indicating the County’s financial records accurately reflect the County’s financial condition.
