Early voting for the Jan. 2 special election for State Senate District 19 opened Monday, Dec. 18 and runs through Friday, Dec. 29.

One of the area’s happiest holiday traditions continued Wednesday, as Richland County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff delivered toys, clothing and other items donated to benefit Richland County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

TMC Transportation, one of the trucking industry’s premier flatbed carriers, today announced it is growing its Southeast presence with the expansion of its regional headquarters in Richland County. The $38 million investment will create 185 new jobs.

Students at four Richland County schools will receive hands-on environmental education this school year, thanks to financial support provided by the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD).

Richland County and the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District will hold an Arbor Day Celebration at Watkins-Nance Elementary School in Columbia on Friday, Dec. 1. Five classes will take part in an official tree planting that morning.
