Richland County Government will celebrate National County Government Month in April. The monthlong observation, spearheaded by the National Association of Counties (NACo), is designed to increase awareness of the role and responsibilities of counties.
Richland County will update its comprehensive plan this year to refine its blueprint for growth and development over the next 25 years – and County residents’ participation will be an essential piece of the process.
Jackson spoke for about 25 minutes to an audience of residents and County employees. He was joined by five members of Council – Joyce Dickerson, District 2 and Council Vice Chair; Bill Malinowski, District 1; Paul Livingston, District 4; Torrey Rush, District 7; and Jim Manning, District 8.
Richland County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson, who also serves as Chair of the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL), will travel to New Jersey next week to help install the new Chair of the prestigious organization of women elected officials.
Richland County Councilman Torrey Rush will serve on a national task force to oversee policies aimed at making counties more competitive and attractive to industry in the global economy.
