New QR codes make paying vehicle taxes in Richland County as easy as using your cell phone

Richland County officials and conservationists gathered with military leaders at Fort Jackson to dedicate trees planted in honor of South Carolina soldiers killed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Richland County offices will close Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1 to observe the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.

Richland County will provide curbside trash collection services Tuesday, Dec. 24. There will be no curbside collections Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Regularly scheduled collections for Dec. 25-27 will be pushed back one day.

Richland County is laying the groundwork for road improvement projects funded by the penny sales tax to begin as early as next summer.

The Richland County Probate Court will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 by order of the SC Supreme Court for mandatory training on the new probate code.
