Richland County Government recently was notified of findings of the audit by the S.C. Department of Revenue (SCDOR) on the County’s Transportation Penny Program. Throughout the audit and legal process, Richland County has worked collaboratively with the state agency in an effort to resolve questions raised concerning the administration of the transportation program. The County remains committed to fostering and maintaining an open government and being transparent to taxpayers.

Projects and activities aimed at addressing the needs of low-to-moderate-income people and communities in Richland County will be the focus of an upcoming virtual meeting.

A federal grant worth nearly $30,000 will help an area in Southeast Richland bloom into a teaching initiative for pollinator conservation, and residents can learn lessons from the garden through an online video series starting in August.

The Richland County Register of Deeds Office has adjusted its appointment policy to help limit wait times.

Transportation officials say drivers on Clemson Road can anticipate traffic changes over the next several weeks, as road construction in Northeast Richland continues.
