Richland County Council Vice Chair Dalhi Myers will host a Tele-Town Hall at noon Saturday, May 2, to give residents an opportunity to get information and ask questions about Richland County’s utilities expansion project and COVID-19 response efforts.

Richland County’s Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is distributing spring vegetable, herb and wildflower seeds via mail, giving residents extra reason to spend time in their gardens while social distancing. 

Residents should expect delays in services provided by Richland County’s Register of Deeds Office as employees work to process a backlog after the office closed for several days in response to a potential COVID-19 exposure.

As areas throughout Richland County experience continued delays in trash pickup, the Solid Waste & Recycling Division is tracking collection routes and coordinating efforts to ensure residents’ waste management needs are addressed.

Councilwoman Yvonne McBride joined neighborhood associations, churches and residents in thanking Bishop Eric Freeman and The Meeting Place Church of Greater Columbia for helping to educate and protect residents against the spread of COVID-19 during a mask giveaway last week.
