Two Richland County students have been named state winners in the 2016 Conservation Poster Contest sponsored by the SC Association of Conservation Districts.

The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District has selected thirty winning entries in the 2016 Arbor Day Youth Contests.  Entries were submitted by K-12 students in response to the prompt, "Talking to Trees:  If you could speak to a tree, what would you say?"

Four schools have been awarded funding for campus conservation projects through the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District's Conservation Education Mini-Grant Program and the City of Columbia's Clean Stream Columbia Awards Program.
