Four schools have received $250.00 Conservation Education Mini-Grants from the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District to support on-campus environmental initiatives.

A Cover Crop Field Day will be hosted by the Dillon SWCD on Tuesday, March 18, from 10am until noon.  Participants will learn about the Conservation Innovation Grant supporting cover crop demonstrations in Richland, Dillon, and Marlboro Counties.  Register by March 13 by e-mailing angela.baker@sc.nacdnet.net or calling (843) 774-5122 ext. 101. 

Chanda Cooper, the education program coordinator for the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District and the County’s Conservation Department, was named the 2013 Outstanding Conservation District Employee by the SC Association of Conservation Districts.
