Richland County residents can take active roles in their local government by applying to serve on one of several boards, committees and panels.

The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD) is once again offering warm-season vegetable, herb and wildflower seeds to Richland County residents at no cost through its Seed Sanctuary program.

Richland County Council Chairwoman Jesica Mackey has been appointed to serve on the board of directors for the South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC).

County Government offices will close Monday, Feb. 17 to observe Presidents Day.

Organizations in Richland County that promote tourism or offer community-based programs and services have until Sunday, Feb. 2 to apply for grants online.
