The Assessor’s Division is making it more convenient for new homeowners to submit applications to establish their primary residency in Richland County for real property tax purposes.

Richland County Council named an Assistant County Administrator, Dr. John Thompson, as the Acting Administrator while a Council search committee continues to work to narrow the field of candidates to lead the day-to-day operations.

Changing the Transportation Program’s management structure, a move approved by County Council earlier this month, will save taxpayers millions of dollars and improve oversight. In addition, bringing the management in-house aligns it with the operational structure of similar transportation programs in other areas, such as Charleston County.
