A familiar face has been visiting the detainees and staff of Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center for more than 20 years, spreading light, hope and guidance to those within the jail’s concrete walls.

Richland County Government offices will close Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

Local small business owners are encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting that will detail the processes for eligibility to work on a variety of  Richland County projects.

Richland County Solid Waste and Recycling is now offering gently-used clothing and book collection at its two drop-off sites, and free mulch is available at the C&D Landfill.

Though the first day of summer is almost two weeks away, triple-digit temperatures are expected to heat up Richland County beginning this weekend and continuing through next week.
