Palmetto Millworks of the Carolinas LLC, a locally owned and operated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) column manufacturer, today announced plans to expand operations in Richland County. The company is investing $5.5 million and creating 47 new jobs.

Richland County will soon unveil plans for upcoming improvements at a busy downtown intersection, boosting safety for drivers and pedestrians and shifting a major Penny program project into the construction phase.

A much anticipated Richland County Penny project is nearly complete, as the new Greene Street bridge in Columbia will soon open to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.

County Government offices will close Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25 in observance of Thanksgiving.

Grants worth thousands will soon be available for nonprofits and other groups seeking to protect and preserve the County’s rich land and historic places.
