Tree-lined streets will again be a hallmark of the Landon Place subdivision now that a project is underway to replace more than 100 live oaks mistakenly chopped down by Richland County last year.

About 600 households in two of Richland County’s trash collection service areas experienced lackluster service over a period of several weeks in January – so, the County Administrator thought an apology was necessary.

A comprehensive internal review of Richland County’s hospitality tax program shows an initiative that has greatly benefitted the community and requires no operational changes, but notes staff must improve its oversight of organizations that receive funding.

As Fort Jackson gears up to celebrate its 100 year anniversary,  Richland County Council Chair Joyce Dickerson is taking on a new role dedicated to honoring the duty, service and military tradition that continue at the Army installation today.
