After the official swearing-in of six Councilmembers, Richland County Council met for the first time this year to elect a new chair and vice chair.

Newly elected Richland County Councilmembers are attending a weeklong orientation in advance of this month’s annual Council retreat, which will focus on strategic planning and goals.

Richland County residents could wake up to a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow Saturday morning as an arctic chill settles into the area this weekend.

Beginning Jan. 1, the funding cycle will open for Richland County Accommodations Tax, Hospitality Tax and Discretionary Grant programs.
