Richland County Council is reviewing its process of awarding taxpayer dollars to local organizations to promote tourism-related activities to determine whether the 11-member body needs to improve the way it allocates the grants, which are approved by a majority vote. 

Richland County Government offices will close Dec. 23, 26 and 27 in observance of Christmas, and Jan. 2 for New Year's Day.

Local organizations can apply for funding that supports projects aimed at preserving Richland County’s natural resources and historic places.

Richland County is the recipient of two environmental awards that laud the County’s leadership in “green” practices.

Richland County Council will consider Tuesday whether to move forward with a reorganization plan designed to provide residents with more effective and efficient government services.
