The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District supports Richland County Eagle Scout candidates whose projects promote natural resources conservation or conservation education initiatives.  One Eagle Scout Mini-Grant up to $250 will be awarded each fall and spring.  The submission deadline for consideration for fall funding is November 15, 2013; the deadline for consideration for spring funding is May 15, 2014.

Jacintha Ravindran (5th grade, Pontiac Elementary), Fiona Aldighieri (8th grade, Longleaf Middle), and Joseph Ravindran (2nd grade, Pontiac Elementary) have been named County winners in the "Where Does Your Water Shed?" poster contest. 

Join the Calhoun, Orangeburg, Bamberg, and Richland Soil and Water Conservation Districts for an informative workshop on managing feral hogs and other nuisance wildlife species on Thursday, November 7, from 9am to 3pm at Tri-County Electric in St. Matthews, SC.

Are you interested in environmental education or youth outreach?  If so, please join us for a Project Learning Tree Training at USC on Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Pre-registration is required.
